Dear Sir: It is an honor and privilege to communicate with you. History will account you one of the great men of the era. It already does. I went through a micro lending program called the Plan Fund in Dallas, Texas, but never borrowed money because I concluded that the business I wanted to create would fail. I am a writer/artist/Novelist/ex-attorney. I have never experienced success in life but I believe in the power of dreams. A man may die but there is power in dreams. some dreams never die. Sir, I am a Seventh Day Adventist. We Adventist experience a great deal of discrimination because we are Sabbath keepers. I have always maintained that one of the ways that the religious liberty of all people who experience economic and employment issues and problems resulting from the faith would be to encourage them to practice the principals of creative capitalism in order to escape poverty. I am not an official of my church, but I do believe that micro lending could be very successful if one takes the model of group loan accountability and applied it to religious groups that experience discrimination based on issues of faith. I believe that this would be a wonderful way of helping those who suffer from religious discrimination. When you think of the History of Grameen, instead of village, think local churches for purposes of this subject. ADRA, the arm of the church that aids those who are in need around the world, could conceivably adopt this as an approach for aiding underprivileged communities around the world. Sir, how would I go about creating a church based NGO to do this? I envision an organization that I would like to call The Shoe String Businessmen's' Institute. Shoe String implies a small, humble venture. The implication as far as promoting religious freedom is immense. Not just for members of my faith, but for all people who experience economic discrimination on the basis of faith. I doubt that a man of your stature actually sees his emails, but if you read this, please give it consideration. On behalf e help, of all the people who your ideas and your program have I offer you a heart felt than you.
