The Alter Rebbe responded to an individual at yechidus: "...The Jewish people are called neirot, lamps. A lamp comprises a vessel, wick, oil, and flame. But one must kindle the flame - and then it sheds light. You have a good lamp, but you lack the igniter. By sharply striking the stone of the animal soul, a spark of fire flies out and kindles the G-dly fire."

A Husband's Obligations towards His Wife

"He shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or conjugal rights"—Exodus 21:10.

The Torah tells us that if a man marries a Jewish slave-girl, he may not torment her by denying her appropriate food, clothing, or conjugal rights. Rather, he must accord her the rights due to all "the daughters [of Israel]." Thus it is clear that this precept applies to all wives.

Genesis Chapter 1

Yom Reeshone........... First day, The Creation Day Of Light

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.

And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
